Junior School PTA

Autumn Fete fun at HCJS

Hereford Cathedral School has an extremely active Junior School PTA, set up to organise a variety of social and fundraising events throughout the year to help raise funds for particular school projects.

The PTA aims to bring parents, teachers and children together through a variety of events that enhance the sense of the school community, raise funds and have fun.

The PTA is run by a committee which meets twice a term in the evenings to discuss and organise forthcoming events. The committee also reviews requests for funding of projects around the School.

Raising money is an important part of the PTA; it enables the purchase of ‘extras’ that come outside of normal school expenditure but enhance the life at school for our children.

Along with these extras the PTA also fund ongoing activities and commit to annual funds for events which include: Shakespeare Workshops, Percussion Workshops, Year 6 Leavers’ party, Pre-Prep Costumes to name a few.

The money is raised by the PTA through a variety of social events held throughout the year including the Christmas Bazaar, the Summer Fete, second hand uniform sales, Bags2school and Sports Day refreshments.

Form reps meet with the Head once a term to share information and concerns of a non-academic nature. The reps provide a vital link for parents within the School and aim to make life for new parents as easy and friendly as possible.

The PTA encourages and welcomes all parents to become involved or help in some way; there is no need to commit to being on the committee. Many parents are recruited by form reps to support various events giving their help, and most importantly, enjoying themselves at the same time.
