1. Complete research on the Palazzo Del Te by Romano (Italian Renaissance Art, p579-81); The Palazzo Chiericati by Palladio in Venezia,( Italian Renaissance Art, p627) and the Villa Rotunda by Palladio, (Italian Renaissance Art, 627-8).
Ensure that you have thoroughly revised 16th Century religious architecture.
- Do the following essay under timed conditions (1hr)
‘Analyse the architectural characteristics of three sixteenth-century religious buildings, discussing how each conveys its religious purpose’

Make sure you have finished the work set during the holidays.
- Look up the following buildings, print off an image and identify the architectural characteristics of each (some will be new and you may need to look them up) and comment on their composition (20 marks for each):
- The Houses of Parliament by Pugin; 19th century Gothic Revival
- The Oxford Museum of Natural History; 19th century Gothic Revival
- The Red House by William Morris; late 19th century Arts and Crafts Movement
It will help you to do a little research on the Gothic Revival and Arts and Crafts Movement before you start.
