On Monday 7th December all Book Clubs met for their end-of-term party and film. Thankyou to those of you who brought such lovely chocolate cakes to the spread of food, and Charlie for the popcorn machine! The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was very entertaining, and as members left they took with them a wrapped christmas present from Mrs Nelson, as a 'thankyou and Happy Christmas' for being such a brilliant group this term.
Books for Schools
We have been collecting tokens from the Times and Sunday Times to earn books for the school Library. They will be totalled up and sent off over the holiday. Thankyou very much for your help.

Cathy Cassidy to visit Hereford |
On 1st July 2009, well-known author Cathy Cassidy came to Hereford, courtesy of Waterstones bookshop, and Puffin.
Children’s author Cathy Cassidy travelled from her home in Scotland to visit Hereford Cathedral School on Wednesday 1st July. Pupils from Y7 and some Y8 helpers hosted the event for visiting pupils from Bishop’s, HCJS and St. James’ schools.
Cathy talked about her career and her inspirations, read extracts from her latest book and answered some ‘excellent questions’ from the audience. Waterstones provided a bookshop so that Cathy’s fans could get their favourite book signed. While they queued patiently, there were activities to keep everyone happy—creating dream flags and making friendship bracelets. “It was a fantastic event” commented Emily Fielder ... “Cathy Cassidy inspired me to carry on my dream” said Bethany Taylor Neville.
