Hereford Cathedral School’s new girls choir is reaching the high notes!
Hereford Cathedral School’s Girls Choir, ‘Cantabile,’ celebrated musical success recently (May 5) by winning the prestigious Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts.
Following hot on the heels of their success at the Hereford Festival of Performing Arts where they won their class and overall choir prize, ‘Cantabile’ are now looking forward to competing at a national and international level.
The Cheltenham Festival showcased some of the finest choirs in the region and ‘Cantabile’ were praised by the adjudicators for their ‘stunning beginnings,’ ‘excellent control’ and ‘scintillating final notes.’
Jo Williamson, Hereford Cathedral School’s Voice Coach and Conductor of the choir said:
“It was hard work and the girls were extremely nervous, but we all pulled together and achieved something fantastic. I am sure everyone associated with Hereford Cathedral School is delighted by the pupils’ success.”
