Hereford Cathedral School’s Eventing Team, celebrated sporting success recently by winning the team trophy at the British Inter-Schools (ODE) Eventing Championships at Stonar School in Wiltshire.

Competing in the Beginners Eventing 80 Class (BE80) against tough opposition, the team of Hannah Morgan, Katie Thomas, Lucy Scudamore and Alice Blane performed magnificently, traversing the difficult cross county course - with a maximum height of 80cms - which had proved a challenge to all the riders.

Individually, Cathedral School student Alice Blane rode brilliantly with two clear rounds and an excellent dressage score of 26, which was more than enough to clinch first place in her section.

Students Katie Thomas and Lucy Scudamore were also on fine form, with good dressage tests and double clears, which earned them 4th and 7th place in their respective sections.

Mrs Sue Connop, Hereford Cathedral School said:

“Against strong opposition the team performed magnificently to win the trophy.”

“I am very proud of their achievements and I look forward to our future inter school eventing events.”
