As part of the RaGSS (Romans and Greek Support Service) initiative set up by the Hereford Cathedral School to share good practice on the teaching of Romans and Greeks in local schools, Y5 pupils from St Thomas Cantilupe and St Francis Xavier schools came to HCS to take part in Daedalus!  - an interactive musical drama workshop where the pupils took on mythological roles alongside actors from kaloi k'agathoi, the educational drama company set up by past pupils from HCS with the aim of bringing the Classics to young people everywhere. Comments received from pupils who attended include “It was the greatest show I have ever seen!”, “It was so good, it should be on the t.v. as a kids’ show” and “I would definitely see it again if I had the chance; it was fantastic”. The event was supported by Sarah Somers, of the Primary Schools' Improvement Service, and sponsored by the Classics Outreach Department of Oxford University.  Other schools interested should contact Head of Classics, Siobhan de Souza at HCS on 01432 363564 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
