Hereford Cathedral School won the local Geographical Association Quiz recently, fighting off close competition along the way.
Hosted by the Geography Department at the Cathedral School, and supported by the Geographical Association and locally by Cargill, teams were drawn from a number of local schools with students being tested on their geographical knowledge.
In a closely fought contest the Hereford Cathedral School team, including Matthew McKay, Christopher Cockbain and Anthony Mansfield, eventually prevailed in a round that required students to identify locations based upon cartographic sources, data and photographs. The team from Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat School came second, closely followed by St Mary’s, Lugwardine.
Mrs June Hodges, Hereford Cathedral School’s Geography Department said :
“I am delighted we were able to host the quiz and that everyone who took part enjoyed the experience.”
“My thanks to the Geographical Association and to Cargill for their fantastic support.”
