Hereford Cathedral School seeks to appoint a Chef Manager for its domestic catering requirements, including the provision of a full canteen service at lunchtimes for up to 700 covers per day, to start as soon as possible. We are looking for an inspirational chef and leader with a passion for food to take responsibility for the canteen and kitchen. The Chef Manager will be required to liaise with senior management at the school to ensure the delivery of excellent quality food at all times.

The post is a permanent position for 35 hours per week, term time only plus 4 weeks. The salary will be in the range of £24,190 to £27,630 per annum (equivalent to £27,819 to £31,774 pro rata), depending on experience, which includes six weeks’ paid holiday. The offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references, a satisfactory enhanced CRB check and a completed Statement of Medical Fitness.

Hereford Cathedral School seeks to appoint a coach of boys’ rowing to work alongside the coach for girls’ rowing. Rowing is a highly successful and popular sport at Hereford Cathedral School and involves boys and girls from J14 (year 9) to J18 (Sixth Form). The successful applicant will be expected to work weekly from 1400 to 1730 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and from 0830 to 1230 on Saturdays. There will also be a requirement to attend regattas/Heads, spring/summer camps and other events at additional times. Hereford Cathedral School seeks to appoint an outstanding Head of Modern Foreign Languages ideally for September 2012 or January 2013 should the right applicant be unavailable for September. We are looking for an inspirational teacher and leader to take this popular and successful department forward. The successful candidate will be able to teach French to A level and Spanish to at least Year 9.
French and Spanish are taught to all pupils within the timetable, while Japanese is a popular lunchtime club. We are fortunate to teach pupils who are bright and well-motivated, as suggested by last year’s A-level results in which 9 out of the 10 A-level French candidates achieved an A grade.
Hereford Cathedral School has a well-established and thriving extra-curricular programme, and the successful applicant will be expected to play a full and active part in this.
