Year 7

Year 8

Year 9

1 ppw              PSHCE ( Music and Drama - in a half term circus of double periods)
2 ppw              Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art, Design Technology, Geography, History, Religious Studies, PE
3 ppw              Latin, Spanish, Games (Geography, History, Religious Studies for those pupils not studying Latin)
4 ppw              French
5 ppw              Maths, English

Latin is an extra subject for those pupils with either experience in previous school and for those pupils that have demonstrated linguistic flair and an ability to cope with the additional academic demands of an extra subjects

Year 10

Pupils study either 9½ or 10½ subjects to GCSE

1 ppw              PSHCE
2 ppw              Short Course GCSE in Religious Studies (from September 2006)
3 ppw              Games
4 ppw              Biology, Physics, Chemistry, French, Spanish, Art, Geography, Design Technology, PE, Music, History, Latin, Drama, Economics, Religious Studies
5 ppw              Maths, English
6 ppw              Maths, English (Year 12 for 2006 - 2007)
9 ppw              Dual Award Science in Year 11
12ppw             Sciences both Triple Award and Dual Award in Year 10- determined at end of Year 9

Pupils must choose either French or Spanish as their Modern Language and 3 optional subjects from the following:
French (as a second modern language), Art, Design Technology, Drama, Economics, Geography, History, Latin, Music, PE

Year 12-13

Pupils usually opt to study for 3 A Levels and 1 AS Level (although it is possible to study for 4 A Levels or different combinations if required) from the following subjects:

Art, Art Textiles, Biology, Chemistry, Classical Civilisation, Design Technology, English, Economics, French, Further Maths, Geography, History, Latin, Maths, Music, Music Technology, Philosophy and Ethics, Physics, PE, Psychology, Spanish, Theatre Studies

2 ppw              General Studies
3 ppw              Games
8 ppw              AS Level subjects
8 ppw              A Level subjects

The aim of the 6th Form Curriculum is to provide as much flexibility as possible so that pupils can choose to study the subjects of their choice.
