The Helliad
13th, 14th and 16th July 2010
The Powell Theatre, 7:30pm
The Helliad is Hereford Cathedral School's 2010 Classics Department Production.
It tells the story of Helen of Sparta, her luring away by Paris, and the life she experienced within the walls of Troy. You will see how she was shunned by the Trojans (well, the women that is), and how she wiled away the hours in her tower, as the effects of the god Eros and her love for Paris waned.
Meanwhile, her husband Menelaus, along with a band of heroes led by his brother Agamemnon, storm Troy in an attempt to win her back. How will they fare, and will there be able to win her back, or will the strong defences of Troy prove too much for the Greeks?
With a fantastic original score by Pat Dunachie, and lyrics by Ed Fletcher, the Helliad promises to be a fantastic night of musical comedy!
