A mixed group from the CCF, the School and parents spent a week over the February half-term ski-touring in Norway. The aim of the week was to introduce all participants in the finer art of moving about on Nordic skis, which to the uninitiated work differently to the standard Alpine variation, as everyone quickly found out.
After a few days training and many hilarious moments we ventured off in to the 'Heroes of Telemark' area for a spot of living in a snow hole and some proper ski-touring. This was thoroughly enjoyed by the group before returning to the start point.
The penultimate day was spent on the downhill slopes using Alpine skis, and everyone in the group noticed just how much their techniques had improved after being on Nordic skis the previous 4 days.
