Our Philosophy of Sport
The School considers sport to be an important and major part of life at Hereford Cathedral School, with a wide and varied range of sports options available on the weekly games afternoon. The School has an excellent reputation for major games and with full fixture lists and well organised coaching; many of the best sportsmen and women normally choose one of these options.
Information about the main team games played at Hereford Cathedral School can be obtained through the side menu. In addition to these traditional sports the school offers a huge range of other sporting opportunities from Badminton, Rock Climbing and Canoeing through to Swimming and Volleyball.
The school has a games hall, gymnasium and a squash court on site, as well as excellent facilities for outdoor games on the Bishop's Palace courts (for netball and tennis) and at Wyeside, where the school boasts some of the most attractive playing fields in Herefordshire. The Cathedral School is also fortunate in that is has the use of the city swimming pool, the leisure centre and the rowing club.
Each term there are sporting occasions for the whole school - the Hull cross-country race in the Autumn Term, the Swimming Gala in the spring, and the Athletics Sports Day in the Summer Term.
