Curriculum in the Sixth Form
At Hereford Cathedral School we offer a flexible curriculum with great choice. Our 25 A Level subjects are largely in the traditional fields sought by the countries leading universities and our students are encouraged to choose any combination of subjects.
The majority of our students select four subjects at AS Level in the Lower Sixth and continue with three of these in the Upper Sixth. Our results are excellent and consistently the best in Herefordshire.
We want to motivate and inspire our students on an individual basis, going beyond the standard A Level syllabus, and are fortunate to also have small class sizes, as well as small tutor groups.

Results at A Level (2011)
At A Level over half of all grades achieved (59.5%) were either A* or A, and over three quarters of all grades achieved (79%) were at least a B or above. The benchmark grades of A*-B, as used by the most competitive universities, were achieved by more than half our students in all their subjects, and 28 students (out of 67) gained all A* or A grades.
An impressive 25.7% of all grades were at the new A* level. Six students who achieved three or more A* grades were Charles Heard, Asher Carruthers, Mathew Walne, Dominic Noble and Neil Cockburn, whilst Eleanor Smith achieved 4 A* grades.
