HCS Cadets welcome Prince William to Hereford

Prince William in Hereford

An expectant crowd gathered on the Cathedral Close yesterday to welcome HRH The Duke of Cambridge, who was in Hereford for the dedication of the SAS Ascension window in Hereford Cathedral.

Pupils from across the school cheered and waved as Prince William arrived at the West Front. The door of the Duke's car was opened by HCS Cadet Molly R, who was selected to assist the Dowager Countess of Darnley, the Queen's representative for Herefordshire, earlier this year.

Prince William smiled and waved at the crowd before greeting officials, including The Right Rev'd Michael Tavinor, Dean of Hereford; and HCS Cadet William H, who is also an assistant to the Dowager Countess of Darnley.

After the dedication of the window, the Duke spent time chatting and shaking hands with the crowd.
