PhysioPhilosophy at HCS

Hereford Cathedral School is now offering physiotherapy, rehabilitation, injury prevention strategies and pitch-side management for pupils on site.

Lead physiotherapist Catriona Hopkins is passionate about increasing activity levels and injury prevention in children, so that our younger generation can be inspired and empowered to stay strong and healthy.

The clinic is attached to the school, enabling a close working relationship with the medical staff and coaches to provide a streamlined and consistent centralised support.

Catriona Hopkins has a wealth of experience in youth sports, being involved in youth rugby, gymnastics, swimming and athletics from recreational to elite levels. Catriona is passionate about preventing injury in youth sports and also in the systematic approach to rehabilitation post injury to enable a prompt and safe return to full fitness and sport.

Catriona will be running Triage Clinics on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes. These will be located in the new clinic space within the school grounds and at no cost to the parent or pupil. Simple advice and exercises will be given at this time.

If your child is recommended for further physiotherapy assessment and treatment, PhysioPhilosophy offers a discounted service to the pupils of Hereford Cathedral School of £15 for a 30-minute appointment, and is located in the school grounds. Alternatively, physiotherapy can be arranged through your own GP practice for NHS physiotherapy.

Allocated clinic times for pupils are Mondays and Fridays from 3.50pm and 6pm. At these times, the clinic will be closed to the public. Other times can be arranged with prior notice. Any child under 16 years of age is required to have parental consent.
