CCF: RAF Section

RAF section
The Hereford Cathedral School CCF Royal Air Force (RAF) Section has long had a reputation of providing exciting and unique opportunities to cadets from within the school community.

With a membership of over 40 cadets, the Section is arguably one of the best in the country, demanding high standards from cadets and staff alike. With a highly motivated team of Senior Non-Comissioned Officer Cadets and Commissioned Officers, we offer a vast range of different activities and experiences to cadets from Year 10 to Sixth Form.

A committed permanent staff base, taken from teaching staff within the school, ensures a consistent programme of activities, ranging from DofE expeditions to flying in Service and civilian aircraft. We are also supported by a team of TEST SNCOs, serving airmen who take time to look after the needs of the CCF units.

The opportunities offered by the CCF, both within the RAF Section and throughout the Contingent, are unique to any other cadet organisation. Not only can cadets partake in Air Cadet Courses and Annual Camps, but they can also take part in courses provided by the Army and Navy Sections, a privilege not available to any other youth organisation within the UK.
