Junior School 7-11

Our Junior School pupils, from Years 3 to 6, are offered a curriculum that is broad and challenging, delivered through stimulating, engaging and creative teaching.

We ensure each child has a firm foundation in the core skills of English, Maths and Science, and introduce new ideas and cultures through work in History, Geography, French, PSHE and Religious Education.

Our pupils are also encouraged to make the most of the opportunities in other areas of the curriculum - such as ICT, music, drama, art and sport - which is supplemented by an extensive range of lunchtime and after-school clubs, from craft and creative writing to rugby and chess.

We like to think of our school as a family and it is important to us that every child is valued within our community. Relationships between staff and children are excellent and we are proud of the high level of care which we provide.

We provide strong support for children’s spiritual and moral development, through a programme of assemblies and form time. The School is privileged to be a part of the Cathedral Foundation and we hold regular services, along with our Speech Day, in the Cathedral. The School also continues to educate the Cathedral choristers.

We also want parents to be part of our community and we are proud of our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which contributes so much to the life of our school whilst also encouraging friendship between parents, adding much to the family atmosphere within our school.
