About

Affiliations

Hereford Cathedral School is proud to be affiliated with the following organisations:

HMC

HMC (The Heads’ Conference) represents the Heads of many of the world’s leading independent schools.

HMC schools are individual and distinctive offering parents a rich variety of options when choosing the right education for their child. But, at the heart of every HMC school is a commitment to the benefits of a holistic educational experience: academic excellence coupled with a strong emphasis on pastoral care and exceptional co-curricular opportunities. HMC exists to serve and support its members, to represent their views and to exemplify excellence in education.

IAPS

The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) is the professional association for Heads of the leading 600 independent prep schools in the UK and worldwide. IAPS exists to support Heads as they strive to deliver excellent standards of education and care. We defend and promote the sector and aim to define and inspire excellence in education.

ISC

ISC brings eight independent school associations together to represent over 1,200 independent schools. These schools are ranked among the best in the world and educate more than 500,000 children. We provide Research, Legal, Regulatory and Press services to ISC schools.

ISI

ISI is a Government approved inspectorate responsible for the inspection of Association independent schools. Schools in the Associations are ranked among the best in the world and educate more than half a million children in 1,200 schools. ISI also inspects private further education colleges and English language schools on behalf of the Home Office. Inspection is for the benefit of the pupils and students, and seeks to improve the quality and effectiveness of their education and care.

BSA

The Boarding Schools Association (BSA) is a UK-based organisation that supports boarding schools and promotes their benefits. It provides guidance, training, and advocacy for member schools, ensuring high standards of care and education. The BSA also helps parents make informed choices about boarding school options.

BAISIS

The British Association of Independent Schools with International Students (BAISIS) supports UK independent schools educating international students. It offers guidance, training, and networking opportunities, ensuring high standards in teaching, pastoral care, and integration. BAISIS helps schools address the unique needs of international students for a successful educational experience.
