Fees

At HCS, we are committed to delivering exceptional value for money, ensuring affordability, and broadening access to our education. Our aim is to provide a values-driven, future-focused, and transformative learning experience that equips our pupils to succeed and thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

FEES & CHARGES 2025-26

The fees detailed below are inclusive of VAT and the discretionary discount has been applied. 

Registration Fee (Reception to Year 12): £90*
Deposit: £180 (refundable subject to terms and conditions)
Bursary fund contribution (Year 7 to Year 12 only): £300*

Payment of fees

An account for each pupil is prepared shortly before the beginning of each term. Fees are due on or before the first day of term; payment is accepted by BACs or cheque. Please note that we cannot accept cash payments for fees. A payment option to pay by Direct Debit is also available.

Hereford Cathedral School is an Introducer appointed representative of Premium Credit Limited which is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. School Fee Plan is a trading name of Premium Credit Limited (company number 02015200).

 

Insurances and refund scheme

Pupils’ Personal Accident Insurance Scheme provides cover for 24 hours a day 365 days a year. All pupils are included in the Scheme, the premium for which is included in the school fees.

From September 2025 Hereford Cathedral School Pupil Absence Scheme (formerly called the School Fees Refund Scheme) provides cover for absence and is available to all pupils. It should be noted that no claim for a refund of fees for a period of absence can be considered, except through membership of this Scheme.

Music tuition

Requests to begin instrumental and singing lessons should be made by contacting Mrs Amy Turtle, Music Administrator, on 01432 363 531. Parents are reminded that a half a term’s notice is required in writing to the music teacher of the intention to terminate music lessons and that the failure to give such notice will result in a half a term’s fees being payable.

All fees and charges are reviewed annually by the Governing Body and updated on the website prior to implementation.

School fees are charged in advance and, if paid termly, are due on or before the first day of term.

The School reserves the right to make a surcharge in the case of late payment, full details are contained in the Parent Contract.
