Transport

We are pleased to offer a variety of school minibus and coach services together with concessionary rail fares for our pupils.

Minibus services

The school operates a reliable and supervised minibus service for its pupils, using both school minibuses and external providers. This service not only ensures a safe journey to and from school but also helps to reduce traffic congestion each morning. While we have several established routes across the county, we continuously assess and adapt our service to meet demand, introducing new routes where possible; however, routes are also dependent on bus capacity and stop locations.

Due to high demand, seats on the minibus service are limited. Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and we maintain a waiting list should a seat become available. Please note that there is a charge for the service, and routes are subject to regular review, meaning timings and locations may change.

The bus service may not suit all parents or accommodate every variation of the school calendar. Pupils wishing to use the service must have prior parental arrangement, and those without a request will be refused travel. Any changes to transport arrangements should be communicated to the Transport Department as soon as possible. The school requires half a term’s notice if transport is no longer required.

The service is not available to EYFS pupils unless accompanied by an older sibling (Year 7 and above), who would be considered the responsible party. If the older sibling is not traveling, the EYFS pupil will not be permitted to use the service, and it will be the parent’s responsibility to arrange transport.

Pupils must behave appropriately on the bus and follow all instructions from the driver. Misconduct that endangers the vehicle or other passengers may result in removal from the service.

This is a private bus service for the use of Hereford Cathedral School pupils only; members of the public cannot and do not use this service.
