Admissions Officer 

Location: Hereford   Description: Full time, all year round
Salary: £19,254 - £21,868 (13-18)

We are seeking to appoint an Admissions Officer to work in our busy, friendly Marketing and Admissions department. Reporting to the Marketing and Admissions Manager, our Admissions Officer plays a key role in the Senior School. They are responsible for the smooth running of the admission process, from the initial enquiry through to registration and then conversion to enrolment. 

This is a role with a high level of accountability and the key measures of success will be as follows:-
•    the number of conversions from enquiry to registration and admission
•    successful and smooth-running pupil recruitment, including open events and assessment process
•    building and sustaining strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders, including prospective parents and pupils
•    upholding and portraying the profile, ethos and aims of the School 

The ideal candidate will work accurately and efficiently and have the ability to monitor, review and present data. The Admissions Officer is often the first point of contact for prospective pupils and parents, we are looking for someone who is able to give detailed advice in a positive and welcoming manner.

Facilities Assistant 

Hereford Cathedral School are looking to appoint Facilities Assistants.

Location: Hereford 
Description:  35 hours per week plus weekend cover as required. 
Work pattern: Shifts Monday-Friday 7.00 am – 10.30 pm on a rota basis plus occasional weekend cover when required. 

A large degree of flexibility is required of this role due to the nature of the duties

Salary: Starting salary £16,023 (£8.80 per hour)

Duties shall include the following:
•    Setting up venues for events both on and off the school premises.
•    Regular building checks ensuring all fire escapes are clear, toilets are clean and fully stocked.
•    Ensuring the security of the school facilities outside of normal operational hours.
•    General duties to help keep the campus clean, tidy and operational.

Essential skills for this role are:
•    Ability to cope with periods of pressure and prioritise workload accordingly 
•    Naturally demonstrates a ‘can do’ helpful attitude
•    Ability to work and communicate effectively as a member of a team
•    Able to work flexibly

Kitchen Porter 

Hereford Cathedral School are looking to appoint a Kitchen Porter to work in our busy catering department.

Location: Hereford (City Centre)
Description:  25 hours per week over 5 days and occasional evening and weekend work. Term-time plus two weeks (38 weeks)
Salary: £16,023 per annum pro rata. This equates to £9,265. (£8.80 per hour)

The core purpose of this role is to provide effective support to the catering department by:
•    Putting away orders using good stock rotation practices
•    Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen in line with Environmental Health standards (training will be provided)

Essential skills for this role are:
•    Ability to cope with periods of pressure and prioritise workload accordingly, meeting all deadlines 
•    Naturally demonstrates a ‘can do’ helpful attitude
•    Ability to work and communicate effectively as a member of a team
•    Able to work flexibly, some earlier starts, evenings and weekends will be required in support of wider school functions from time to time
•    Some knowledge of Health and Safety procedures in a catering environment
•    Physically capable to lift and carry stock etc

Food Service Assistant 

Hereford Cathedral School are looking to appoint a Food Service Assistant to work in our busy catering department 

Location: Hereford

•    Some knowledge of Health and Safety procedures in a catering environment
•    Some knowledge of food preparation and cooking skills

Teacher of Drama / Head of Drama (Maternity cover)


Hereford Cathedral School seeks to appoint a full-time teacher of Drama from January 2020.  The successful candidate will be expected to lead the school’s thriving extra-curricular programme of Drama, in addition to the curriculum teaching of the subject across the age range, from Year 7 to GCSE and A-level.

School Minibus Driver 

Description:  10 hours per week over 5 days. 6.30am-8.30 am 
                   or 20 hours and 6.30am-8.30 am 3.30pm -5.30pm

Term-time only (36 weeks)

Salary: 10 hours per week - £14,549 per annum pro rata. This equates to £3,188.
Salary: 20 hours per week - £14,549 per annum pro rata. This equates to £6,376.

We are looking to appoint a skilled School Minibus Driver to join our transport department. 

All drivers of the school minibuses must:
•    Be over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
•    Have held a category B licence for at least 2 years.
•    Have a D1 entitlement on their licence.  
•    Undergo a Worcester County Council minibus driving assessment and must successfully pass this test to be employed.
•    Ensure the emotional and physical welfare of the pupils in their care in line with Hereford Cathedral School Child Protection Guidelines

Duties shall include the following:
•    To safely transport pupils and staff from one location to another ensuring that all Road Traffic Act Legislation is adhered to.
•    To maintain good customer relations with parents and schools and contribute to a positive atmosphere on the minibus. 
•    Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks on minibus i.e. oil level, fuel, water etc.
