Teacher of PE & Girls’ Games

Opportunity 
We are seeking an outstanding PE and Girls’ Games Teacher from January 2024 (or earlier if available) through to the end of the academic year in July 2024. 

We anticipate appointing a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and committed PE specialist, with first-rate interpersonal skills, energy, high expectations and the ability to work well and communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents. 

Candidates for the position should be willing to contribute fully to the pastoral and extensive extra-curricular life of the school. This will include coaching teams beyond normal school hours including a significant number of Saturdays. The individual will be highly motivated and fully prepared to undertake the demands of working in one of the UK’s leading independent co-educational day and boarding schools. 
 

Overview
Netball is the main team sport for girls in the Spring Term where there is a competitive programme of fixtures, mainly on Saturdays. Netball is a Games option during this term for Year 7-13 along with after school practices. In the Summer Term, Netball is replaced with Cricket as the main team sport. In addition, PE lessons take place once a week for Years 7-9 and there is academic PE for Year 10 & 11 (GCSE) and Year 12 & 13 (BTEC Sport).

Director of Sport 

Salary: Competitive
Hours/weeks: Full-time Start date: Flexibility from Jan through to Sep 2024
Location: Herefordshire (based at Hereford Cathedral School)

The Director of Sport will be responsible for the strategic development of sport at the school as well as its day-to-day management. Head of Cricket

Hours/weeks: Full-time Start date: From January 2024 (or earlier)
Location: Herefordshire (based at Hereford Cathedral School)

Opportunity
We are seeking an outstanding Head of Cricket and inspirational coach. The ideal candidate will have the leadership, vision, coaching skills and experience to take the lead role in the development and delivery of our cricket programme. The Head of Cricket will be responsible for shaping and developing the sport in the School, including the tactical and technical development of our players at all levels.
We anticipate appointing a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and committed cricket specialist, with first-rate interpersonal skills, energy, high expectations and the ability to work well and communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents. The ability to coach rugby, football, hockey or netball would be advantageous.

Candidates for the position should be willing to contribute fully to the pastoral and extensive extra-curricular life of the school. This will include coaching teams beyond normal school hours including a significant number of Saturdays as well as 1-2-1 coaching and running cricket camps. The individual will be highly motivated and fully prepared to undertake the demands of working in one of the UK’s leading independent co-educational day and boarding
schools.

Facilities Assistant/Driver

Salary: £16,225
Work pattern: 37.5 hours per week for 36 weeks of the year plus occasional weekend cover as agreed. Permanent post.                                                       Shifts Monday-Friday 10.30 am – 7.00 pm. A large degree of flexibility is required of this role due to the nature of the duties.

School Minibus Driver 

Location: Hereford 
Description:  20 hours and 6.30am-8.30 am 3.30pm -5.30pm 
                    Term-time only (36 weeks per year)

Salary: £10,988 per year
6.30am-8.30 am (10 hours per week) - £15.67 per hour. This equates to £6,653.
             3.30pm -5.30pm (10 hours per week) - £10.42 per hour. This equates to £4,335.

We are looking to appoint a skilled School Minibus Driver to join our transport department. 

All drivers of the school minibuses must:
•    Be over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
•    Have held a category B licence for at least 2 years.
•    Have a D1 entitlement on their licence.  
•    Undergo a minibus driving assessment and must successfully pass this test to be employed.
•    Ensure the emotional and physical welfare of the pupils in their care in line with Hereford Cathedral School Child Protection Guidelines

Duties shall include the following:
•    To safely transport pupils and staff from one location to another ensuring that all Road Traffic Act Legislation is adhered to.
•    To maintain good customer relations with parents and schools and contribute to a positive atmosphere on the minibus. 
•    Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks on minibus i.e. oil level, fuel, water etc.
