Music Librarian 

Hereford Cathedral School are looking to appoint an Music Librarian.
Location: Hereford
Description:  5 hours per week. Some flexibility will be required. 
Salary: £8.80 per hour 

We are looking to appoint a Music Librarian to join out Music School team. 

The core purpose of this role is to continue to develop the music library in the Music School, working to maintain an organised facility and essential resources for staff and pupils. To maintain and further develop the library facilities, catalogue and maintain orchestral, choral and chamber music sets, and to organise/plan coherently new resources which are often donations. In addition to sheet music and reference library, to oversee the maintenance of the schools hire instruments.

The ideal candidate will able to: 
•    Organise and prioritise work
•    Prioritise and multi-task 
•    Work on own initiative 
•    Work in a positive and enthusiastic way with a confident, polite manner

Experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial.

Assistant Head Cook

Hereford Cathedral School are looking to appoint an Assistant Head Cook to work in our Boarding House, Wilmot House. 

Location: Wilmot House, How Caple, Herefordshire. 
Description:  27 hours per week over 5 days including weekends 
Occasional overtime will be required.
Term-time and half terms plus 6 days (40.2 weeks per year) 
Salary: £18,709 per annum pro rata. This equates to £13,275. (£10.28 per hour)

The core purpose of this role is to ensure that all boarders, including those with special dietary, medical or religious needs, are provided with meals which are adequate in nutrition, quantity, quality, choice and variety. Provide effective support to the Catering Manager through the ability to serve food to staff and pupils and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Essential skills for this role are:
•    NVQ level 2/3 in food preparation and cookery or equivalent qualification
•    Previous experience of large scale cooking and food preparation in a high volume time bound environment
•    The ability to work on own initiative
•    Excellent verbal communication skills
•    Organisation and time management skills
•    Ability to work well under pressure
•    Happy to be flexible in approach to work
•    Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people

HR Assistant 

Hereford Cathedral School are looking to appoint an HR Assistant.
Location: Hereford
Description:  15-20 hours per week. Some flexibility will be required. 
Salary: COMPETITIVE 

The core purpose of this role is to work closely with the HR Manager to provide a professional and high quality HR service. The HR Assistant will provide administrative assistance and support to ensure the smooth running of the busy HR Office.

The ideal candidate will able to: 
•    Organise and prioritise work
•    Communicate extremely effectively 
•    Manage and maintain databases
•    Prioritise, multi-task and keep calm under pressure 
•    Work on own initiative 
•    Work in a positive and enthusiastic way with a confident, polite manner

Experience of working in a generalist HR support role and undertaking pre-employment checks would be beneficial as would CIPD qualifications or demonstrable knowledge.

Food Services Assistant

Location: Old Deanery, Cathedral Close, Hereford, HR1 2NG 
Description:   

20 hours a week, five days out of seven, term-time only (38 weeks per year) 
Salary: £8.80 per hour

Accountabilities

1.    To assist in the production of foodstuffs as required by the Chef Manager and Cooks.
2.    To keep kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic at all time in accordance with national standards as set out by Environmental Health.
3.    Serve food to staff and pupils at morning break and lunchtime.

Responsibilities

1.    Carry out food preparation tasks, including vegetable washing and prep, salads, sandwiches, sauces, premixes, frozen and dehydrated products and assist the Cooks or Chef Manager in cooking food by frying, boiling, steaming etc.  Using all large and small kitchen equipment provided.
2.    Assist with the setting up of the service counter, serve food according to the type of service used, and clean areas afterwards.
3.    Set up dining room furniture and prepare the room for dining, cleaning and dismantling same and leaving in a clean condition.
4.    Ensure floors in both kitchen and dining areas is keep free of food waste at all times to avoid slips and falls.
5.    Wash crockery, cutlery, cooking and service utensils, pots and pans.  Clean Kitchen equipment, clean floors, walls and surfaces in the kitchen and dining room.
6.    Perform in depth cleaning tasks when requested.
7.    Assist with the unloading of deliveries of supplies.
8.    Serve drinks and snacks at morning break, functions and meetings as directed.
9.    Assist with food preparation and serving at events and meetings as directed.
10.    Operate till and take cash at senior school morning break time.

Minibus Driver 

September 2020 

Location: Hereford

Description: 10 hours per week over 5 days. 6.30am-8.30am

or 20 hours and 6.30am-8.30 am 3.30pm -5.30pm

Term-time only (36 weeks)

Salary: 10 hours per week - £16,023 per annum pro rata. This equates to £3,511.

Salary: 20 hours per week - £16,023 per annum pro rata. This equates to £7,022.

We are looking to appoint a skilled School Minibus Driver to join our transport department.

All drivers of the school minibuses must:

Be over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
Have held a category B licence for at least 2 years.
Have a D1 entitlement on their licence.
Undergo a minibus driving assessment and must successfully pass this test to be employed.
Ensure the emotional and physical welfare of the pupils in their care in line with Hereford Cathedral School Child Protection Guidelines
Duties shall include the following:

To safely transport pupils and staff from one location to another ensuring that all Road Traffic Act Legislation is adhered to.
To maintain good customer relations with parents and schools and contribute to a positive atmosphere on the minibus.
Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks on minibus i.e. oil level, fuel, water etc.
