Key Stage 2 Teacher

Opportunity
Hereford Cathedral Junior School seeks to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to teach a range of subjects. Primarily based in Key Stage 2, the ideal candidate will have particular strengths in ICT and maths, demonstrating the skill to teach a wide range of abilities, including those who need structured learning support as well as those who are more able.


The candidate will be a form teacher, taking responsibility for a group of up to around 18 pupils. Whilst the timetable will likely be subject focused, as our pupils receive specialist provision, we expect our Junior School teachers to be flexible and able to teach across the age and subject range.

The School launches its digital strategy in September, with Year 6 bringing their own devices, whilst other year groups use our stand-alone facilities. It is expected that the successful candidate will be experienced in using technologies to enable children’s learning.

This is a permanent position, ideally full-time, but open to all candidates who wish to discuss part-time opportunities. The ideal candidate will want to involve themselves fully in the life of the school, contributing to trips, evening activities and the occasional weekend.

Head of Football

Opportunity

We are seeking an outstanding Head of Football with the leadership, vision, coaching skills and experience to take the lead role in the development and delivery of our football programme. The Head of Football will be responsible for shaping and developing the sport in the School, including the tactical and technical development of our players at all levels.

The individual will be highly motivated and fully prepared to undertake the demands of working in one of the UK’s leading independent co-educational day and boarding schools.

This is a relatively flexible role that can be tailored to suit ; however, the successful candidate must be available on Saturdays during the Spring Term to support the competitive programme.

Head of Strength & Conditioning

Opportunity

We are seeking an outstanding specialist to deliver Strength & Conditioning to pupils across the Senior School alongside supporting our sports programmes, Heads of Sport and Sports Scholars and Athlete Development Programme.

The successful applicant will provide a diverse physical activity and wellbeing schedule that is available to all and provide strength & conditioning knowledge and expertise for our sports coaches, including designing, instructing and evaluating warm-up and cool down protocols.

The role will require individual and small group sessions across a wide range of pupils throughout the School, ranging from pupils and staff wishing to improve their general health through to aspiring elite sports people.

The role is flexible in terms of hours and can be tailored to fit the right applicant. There is an opportunity to combine the role with other positions such as sports coaching or as a graduate role with accommodation and responsibilities in our boarding house.

Minibus Driver 

Location: Hereford

Description: 10 hours per week over 5 days. 6.30am-8.30am

or 20 hours and 6.30am-8.30 am 3.30pm -5.30pm

Term-time only (36 weeks)

Salary: 10 hours per week - £16,023 per annum pro rata. This equates to £3,511.

Salary: 20 hours per week - £16,023 per annum pro rata. This equates to £7,022.

We are looking to appoint a skilled School Minibus Driver to join our transport department.

All drivers of the school minibuses must:

Be over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
Have held a category B licence for at least 2 years.
Have a D1 entitlement on their licence.
Undergo a minibus driving assessment and must successfully pass this test to be employed.
Ensure the emotional and physical welfare of the pupils in their care in line with Hereford Cathedral School Child Protection Guidelines
Duties shall include the following:

To safely transport pupils and staff from one location to another ensuring that all Road Traffic Act Legislation is adhered to.
To maintain good customer relations with parents and schools and contribute to a positive atmosphere on the minibus.
Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks on minibus i.e. oil level, fuel, water etc.
