On Monday 12 May, pupils from years 7-9 took part in Hereford Cathedral School’s annual House Debating Competition, hosted by the Debating Society.
Two motions were debated: This House would arm every police officer and This House would ban smartphones in schools. With eight speakers — including four first-time debaters — the event showcased some impressive arguments, confident delivery and spirited discussion.
After two close contests, Langford House were declared the overall winners.
The event also welcomed back former pupil and past Debating Society Chair, Laura Bell (OH), who returned to support and judge the competition.
Thank you to all involved for making it such an engaging and enjoyable event.
