Year 7's day of discovery at Hereford Cathedral

Art in Cathedral

Hereford Cathedral School Year 7 pupils have been taking part in a day of exploration and discovery at Hereford Cathedral.

In this cross-curricular event, the pupils have enjoyed a packed schedule of activities in Hereford Cathedral and the cloisters, which have included a treasure hunt, a spirituality exercise, an art session where pupils used pencils and ink to sketch creatures found in the cathedral's stonework, a visit to see the Mappa Mundi and the Cathedral archives, topped off with a climb up all 218 of the tower's steps!

Later, the children listened as Hereford Cathedral Assistant Director of Music, Peter Dyke, played the cathedral's magnificent organ.

It has been an inspiring day for our Year 7s!
